LA Poverty Rate Declining … those without insurance decline also

Isn’t Bush destroying our economy? Isn’t the train of health care being run by Casey Jones? It seems not so much. The LAT in it’s usually biased style reports that LA’s poverty rate has declined during the Bush Years.
“The population is getting older, and older people have higher incomes,” said Dowell Myers, a USC professor of policy, planning and development. Also, immigration rates are continuing to decline, and it is the most recent newcomers who tend to have the highest poverty rates, he said.
So let me get this straight, all those immigrants were NOT helping the economy? Isn’t that the mantra of the left? Why yes it is.
“We have an immigrant population that is settling in, and that is raising their incomes,” he added.
Huh? So now immigrants, by that he means illegal aliens; are making more money? I thought they only took low-wage jobs? It seems to me that the left can’t make up it’s collective mind on what the problem is or is not.
Fact is that illegals are returning home, and many are not coming back. That always helps the poverty rate decline. It also means a decline in crime, and a reduction on the burden to cities and the US. It also means that real Americans can get jobs that were taken by illegals who don’t always report their income and rarely leave the money in the US.
It also seems to make fewer people with health insurance. I wonder who the libs will blame for that? I thought we were in the worst economy of all time? Aren’t illegal aliens our only hope?
