Earth Hour

Unreal, what are these people thinking?
Today was the day for “Earth Hour”. Who knew? I didn’t. It seems that some did, and once again Google proves how insipid they can be, going along with a meaningless stunt. No doubt many of the fools that participated in this will think them heros.
Turn off your lights for one hour, save world
More like prove you are an idiot. Reuters screams: “Earth Hour” goes global. Even Google went dark, by changing the background color of it’s page to Black. Well there you go, the world is saved.
In a tip of its virtual hat to the event, the background of Google’s home page turned to black from white on more than a dozen country sites including Google.com. A message on the site read: “We’ve turned the lights out. Now it’s your turn.” and directed visitors to conserve energy when using computers.
How truly pathetic.
“Earth Hour shows that everyday people are prepared to pull together to find a solution to climate change. It can be done,” said James Leape of WWF International, which was running the campaign.
No, it says that many people just want to be part of something bigger than themselves and are willing to do the most meaningless things to achieve that. It’s easy, so very easy; just turn off your light for one hour and Kumbaya! Grow up people. do you realize how much energy was wasted turning all the appliances back on? or that black pages require more energy than white ones? Of course not, why think about the facts, when a meaningless gesture is so much easier.
Climate change skeptic Chris Horner said Google has used its homepage “for politically correct posturing” while failing to step in on issues such as human rights in China.
Amen! How sad that so many are so foolish.
