Google, Clueless Morons

The U.S. Department of Defense has issued a memo that Google vehicles doing mapping for Street View are not allowed on U.S. Military Bases. One unit appears to have made it on a base, already. This is a no-brainer. Should have been in place months ago, no years ago.
I am continually amazed at the arrogance of the Googlenauts. They actually believe that it is a ‘good idea’ to go on Military bases and take photographs for their “street view” feature in Google Maps.
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Pentagon has banned Google Earth teams from making detailed street-level video maps of U.S. military bases.
A message sent to all Defense Department bases and installations around the country late last week told officials to not allow the popular mapping Web site from taking panoramic views inside the facilities.
Michael Kucharek, spokesman for U.S. Northern Command, told The Associated Press on Thursday that the decision was made after crews were allowed access to at least one base. He said military officials were concerned that allowing the 360-degree, street-level video could provide sensitive information to potential adversaries and endanger base personnel.
His comments came just a few days after published reports suggested that protesters used Google Earth to help plot their access to the roof of the Parliament building in London.
Hello! Wake up, you liberal idiots. Do you even use your own news site? Did it ever occur to you that maybe terrorists might want to use that for their own ends? It shouldn’t surprise you, since terrorists are already using Google Earth and Google Maps, already.
Then again Google believes it is outside the boundaries of the laws of every nation. It even decided that Taiwan is NOT a nation, all so they could make more money by getting access to China. Yes, such good people, the Googlenauts. Good thing they believe in the mantra “do no evil”.
Google believes in instant gratification.
Yes it does, especially at the expense of people.
4. Democracy on the web works.
Google works because it relies on the millions of individuals posting links on websites to help determine which other sites offer content of value.
Yes, that is what Google thinks is “Democracy”. It’s absurd to think that putting a link on a site is the equivalent of voting. Talk about out of touch.
6. You can make money without doing evil.
Yes that is my favorite. Time and time again they prove not only do they not believe this, but that they don’t even consider the consequences of their actions.
Haughty liberal arrogance.

Hi Mark
Yep agreed with some of your comments on sensitive locations, but think you need to go back to your history books. It was not Google but the US government that stopped recognising Taiwan back in 1979 and “following de-recognition, the United States terminated its Mutual Defense Treaty with Taiwan.” The US complies with the view that Taiwan is a part of China. Go check out the US State department web pages (http://www.state.gov/r/pa/ei/bgn/35855.htm).

Yes, I have heard that excuse before. Carter
wasis a moron. Beyond that Google is NOT a country, and to equate what it does with the US is arrogant, foolish, and a straw man agrument.Current US policy is, and has been since Reagan — other than Clinton — , that Taiwan has a legitimate claim to Self-Rule and Independence, and the US would defend any intervention by China into Taiwan. Officially the governemnt can’t say that, but behind the scenes, everyone knows it’s true.
Remember Berlin, Yugoslavia? They were considered part of the Soviet Union, even though we were working to get them freedom. If Google decided to put up a Russian site and called GDR a part of the Soviet Union — the USSR said the GDR was independant, just as China says Taiwan is independant — Do you think the attitude would have been the same? I doubt it.
Google knew what was going on, and blatantly subverted the “good” for it’s own profits. Ironically this might prove what the liberals say about business; that it’s all corrupt and works against the “little guy”. All evidence to the contrary being ignored of course, as liberals do.
Google claims to be wonderful and “light” (as in the Light of Man); they are nothing but a typical bunch of greedy geeks, who pretend to be one thing — socially concerned — and are not. They live in this Utopia, that is going to come crashing down quite soon.
I do have to admit it is fun to watch hypocrites flounder about in their hubris. I think of crab who convinces himself the water is not boiling, leaps in, and soon leaps out telling people it was too salty for his liking.
