San Diego Today

Syphilis, Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, Measles are off the charts. The Government says STD/Is are due to the lack of testing because of the lack of forthrightness by patients. Uh O.K. Measles are spreading as well. No doubt that is due to not enough testing. Unreal.
More Proof that California is Broken
San Diego County Health Officials launch campaign to slow sexually transmitted diseases. Gee what a shock. Promiscuity breeds diseases. The Government has an easy answer, so don’t worry. They are going full bore with a radio AND television campaign. Anyone want to guess what it WON’T cover? Yep that’s right, abstinence, or restraint. Instead they want to put a bandage on the symptoms.
So how bad is it?
The county’s annual number of new syphilis cases rose from 23 in 1997 to 312 last year.
When compared with U.S. case statistics from 2001 through 2006, San Diego County’s annual count climbed 800 percent while the national total went up about 60 percent, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Yes, folks here in the land of ‘do it if it feels good’, it ain’t feelin’ so good for some.
The annual number of chlamydia cases increased from 10,249 in 2003 to 12,796 in 2007.
The annual total of gonorrhea cases increased from 1,972 cases in 2003 to 2,403 in 2007.
It’s unclear what is causing the burgeoning rates of sexually transmitted diseases.
Oh really now? These people are a joke. This next comment makes no sense at all.
“A possible explanation for the increase in gonorrhea, chlamydia and syphilis cases could be that patients are not forthcoming about their sexual practices, making it difficult for their health providers to order appropriate tests,”
What? The numbers go up and the reason is that the “appropriate tests” are not being ordered? Huh? Unreal. Last time I checked all of these diseases had definite signs. So much so, that there was an 800% increase in them being reported!
The bacteria that cause syphilis are transmitted through contact with a syphilis sore.
Primary stage: About 10 to 90 days after infection, a painless chancre appears at the site of infection.
Secondary stage: A skin rash and mucous membrane lesions appear.
Well there you go, it’s due to not enough money spent on tests. I wonder how long it is until these same people say it’s not enough money that’s the problem.
The reason the number of diseaes is on the rise is that California believes in irresponsibility.
Health officials also said that complacency might be a variable among men who have sex with men
Until the Government wakes up to the fact that immorality is the problem, we have no chance of fixing this.
Measles Outbreak
Their is a measles outbreak here in San Diego County.
(CBS/AP) Authorities say five more children in San Diego have tested positive for measles, bringing to 11 the total number in the recent outbreak.
Once again we have the “trendy” area causing problems.
One of the latest victims is an 8-year-old who may have spread the measles virus during a visit to Whole Foods Market in Hillcrest and later to a Cirque du Soleil performance at the fairgrounds.
Hillcrest is a “trendy” area loaded with homosexuals and promiscuous types.
This is the most measles cases in the city in 17 years, according to Dr. Mark Sawyer, a pediatrician and infectious disease specialist at Ray’s Children Hospital in San Diego.
The outbreak is believed to have started with a child who caught measles in Switzerland, then returned to the United States.
Those damn Europeans and their “trendy” ways.
Measles can cause complications that can even lead to death, Sawyer warned.
None of the 11 patients had been immunized.
What does Sawyer say to parents concerned about possible links to autism and other problems with vaccinations?
“The first thing I say is they really should discuss all their concerns with their physician and get all of the facts. In my opinion, parents who choose not to have their children vaccinated are not making a fully-informed decision.
Comments like that are not helpful. It’s that haughty attitude the drives people away from getting help, and ‘taking tests’.
“The other thing that parents need to know is that vaccines are very, very safe, and there is a very complete structure to evaluate the safety of vaccines both before they’re given to children or put on the market and afterwards.”
Tell that to my dad who ended up getting Guillain-Barré due to a flu shot another report here. So much for safety. CDC has a page pimping the vaccine
Too much shot pushing, too much condom pushing, too much pill pushing; not every issue is solved with a needle, condom, or pill. The thing that really annoys me is the attitude that if you don’t do it the liberal way, then you are irresponsible. The idea that you can ‘have it all’ and be safe and happy is idiotic.
