Outrage over K9 officer death
Jan 2nd, 2008 by Mark
The San Diego Union Tribune seems to think “Stryker” is just a dog. The readers are not so enthralled with the response. Most people are outraged about the death of “Stryker”. Seems the UT is not.
Several people left flowers yesterday for 6½-year-old Stryker, the department’s most experienced police dog, at a memorial for Oceanside officers who have died in the line of duty.
“He was in the prime of his career,” said Officer Greg Rainwater, a former handler. “It’s a real tragedy.”
Read the comments on the UT page. People are upset.
News8 is reporting that there is video, and they are trying to obtain it.
