Bush is Mad
Oct 25th, 2007 by Mark
Says the LAT. No really they said that. In this article called: Straightjacket Bush
Liberals, put it behind you. George W. Bush and Dick Cheney shouldn’t be treated like criminals who deserve punishment. They should be treated like psychotics who need treatment.
This is what passes for intellectual discourse in the liberal set.
First they lie:
Because they’ve clearly gone mad. Exhibit A: We’re in the middle of a disastrous war [a lie] in Iraq, the military and political situation in Afghanistan is steadily worsening, [not true, things are actually looking up, and the problems we are having is due to Iran, hmmm] and the administration’s interrogation and detention tactics have inflamed anti-Americanism and fueled extremist movements around the globe [not true, liberal papers have done that, along with radical extremist Islama-fascists who get cover from the likes of the LAT]
Second they pontificate:
Sane people, confronting such a situation, do their best to tamp down tensions, rebuild shattered alliances, find common ground with hostile parties and give our military a little breathing space. But crazy people? They look around and decide it’s a great time to start another war.
So Rosa Brooks, now knows the mind of Bush and Cheney? How so, pray tell. Oh and maybe you didn’t notice, it’s Iran that is starting the war.
Third they obfuscate:
That would be with Iran, and you’d have to be deaf not to hear the war drums. Last week, Bush remarked that “if you’re interested in avoiding World War III . . . you ought to be interested in preventing [Iran] from having the knowledge necessary to make a nuclear weapon.” On Sunday, Cheney warned of “the Iranian regime’s efforts to destabilize the Middle East and to gain hegemonic power . . . [we] cannot stand by as a terror-supporting state fulfills its most aggressive ambitions.” On Tuesday, Bush insisted on the need “to defend Europe against the emerging Iranian threat.”
Huh? Iran is now a major threat to Europe? The Iranians are going to launch a nuclear missile (that they don’t yet possess) against Europe (for reasons unknown because, as far as we know, they’re not mad at anyone in Europe)? This is lunacy in action.
Funny Jimmy Carter blamed Bush for not stopping 9/11, even though everyone who was listening knew it was coming. Bush was not in office long enough to do anything about it, it was Clinton who failed.
Fourth it trots out some quack to back up it’s premise:
Writing in Newsweek on Oct. 20, Fareed Zakaria, a solid centrist and former editor of Foreign Affairs, put it best. Citing Bush’s invocation of “the specter of World War III if Iran gained even the knowledge needed to make a nuclear weapon,” Zakaria concluded that “the American discussion about Iran has lost all connection to reality. . . . Iran has an economy the size of Finland’s. . . . It has not invaded a country since the late 18th century.
Did you note they lied there also? Iran has not invaded a country since the late 18th century. I am sure the Iraqis would have a different take on that, as most likely would Pakistan. Oh and Fareed Zakaria? Well have you ever seen a Conservative or moderate get a write up in the Village Voice? Neither have I. Even though the Village Voice says he is conservative, he is not. The Nation, described him as “junior Kissinger”. The reason? Instead of blaming Islama-fascist for the terror, he blamed the U.S. Not exactly a Conservative or clued up if you ask me.
Now why did they bring up the economy? To make Iran look weak. Just the type of country that would use nuclear weapons, by the way. Why you ask? Remember when Iran took hostages and Carter failed to bring them home (I am pretty sure we were proportionally as large then, as now) due to his own failed policies?
Well President Ima Dinner Jacket has said several times that he wants to wipe Israel off the map. Guess that is ok with liberals. Connect the dots people. Germany wanted to do that also.
Fifth lie some more:
Israel and every Arab country (except Syria and Iraq) are . . . allied against Iran. And yet we are to believe that Tehran is about to overturn the international system and replace it with an Islamo-fascist order? What planet are we on?”
Iraq is not allied against Iran? Since when?
What is sad is that instead of dealing with this serious threat from Iran, the LAT once again covers up the evil in Islam. Anything to attack Bush, no matter the cost. They don’t care about the U.S. They only care about hating Bush, and Conservatives, and to a lesser degree Republicans.
Iran is a deadly threat, and must be dealt with, and not the way Carter did it. He was and is a failure. So is Clinton. They both almost caused the end of the US and the Western world.

Woa there. I was ready to give Bush props for how he was handling Iran, but now I can’t. Please don’t blame Clinton for 9/11. It was a set of circumstances that everyone regrets dearly. No one person failed, we all did.
Secondly, the reason I was going to praise Bush was because he’s following the Carter strategy. First move is to clamp down on them with sanctions. Then it’s up to Iran - they can either back down, as they did in 1979, or push the envelope, in which case, we’d have no choice but to use force. If you really think about it, we agree on this one.
What are you smoking Kip, you know we can’t agree on anything! *lol* j/k
Sanctions are, and have always been a joke. They only work on nations that want to be part of “polite” society. That clearly does not apply here. Not to mention Russia is going to run the blockade, and aid the Islma-fascists because they oppose us.
I hope and pray that Bush is merely going through the motions so we can “glass” Iran (sand + nukes = glass). And no I am not “for” war. I am however for eliminating threats to us, even the ones that threaten liberals. Horrors! who knew!
It’s simple, them or us. I think you know which side I stand on.
I am hoping we have learned our lessons. Iran went wacko after Carter sold out the Shah, Iraq went nuts when we let the UN do our thinking (much like Carter did with the Shah), Afghanistan happened because we were too busy worrying about what the world thought of us, and once again let the world aka the UN dictate our actions. Bush 41 should have told the UN to get stuffed, and taken out Saddam in the 90s. Clinton could have taken out bin Laden and Co, but chose to not do so. When we worry about what the world thinks of us, we get zapped. Screw that.
What I didn’t mention in the article above was that the media is not covering our success in Iraq. Doesn’t it strike you as odd that the media is not telling you how many Americans died this month? Gee I wonder why? Hint: zero. Anbar province is now 60% less violent after 2 months of the surge. Yet the media narrative is the war is lost.
When I first read the piece, I thought:”wow! how insightful. She figured out that Iran is the next stop on the freedom world tour.” Then it hit me, she just wants to bash Bush. Yea, it was a let down.
God know I’m not a Bush supporter, but I hope and pray we can find some solution to the problem of Iran. I completely get that these are really bad guys, and they would wipe out Israel - and the U.S. for that matter - if they could.
It would be nice if sanctions worked. They won’t. We are going to bomb — or worse — Iran. If Hillary wins, you can bet on it happening in late November or December of next year.
Guy’s, I don’t know where you’re from or what propoganda you are listening to (always thought the US was a free country) but there IS NO THREAT from Iran. It’s bullshit in exactly the same way there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Your president is a certified ‘nutter’ as we say here in the UK, He’s so evil, corrupt and useless that whenever there’s a deep and difficult problem, with the US or the US economy, becuase he hasn’y the foggiest idea how to fix the problem he starts banging on about another war to divert attention from the main issue.
THe main issue by the way chaps, is your economy. If your main export to the world is WAR, it is little wonder that after a fairly short perdiod of ti,e your stocks and shares will start to suffes and your options slide, especially when the rest of the workd disagrees with you and can see just how corrupt and insane the current regime is. In the fullness of time, as history looks back and sees the current refgime for what it is, they may talk of the 1st US president to end up behind bars - who knows, one can only hope but in the meantime wise up guys and take a look closer to home: The real threat comes from within, not from our there.
Gary, Windsor, UK.
Oh Gary, spare us the ‘head in the sand’ mentality. Bill Clinton thought as you did, and bin Laden is the result. No thanks.
How sad they you seem to only read the Guardian, and listen to the BBC. You should get out, and try some real reporting. That of course requires honesty, which you won’t get from those two propaganda outlets.
Iran wants nukes, they want them to use. That’s enough reason to stop them. It’s scary that you hate Bush so much that you won’t even stop and think about the situation in rational terms.
As for the economy, the only reason the dollar is down is due to the liberal propaganda machine of the media. A “machine” that rivals Goebbels in efficiency, and closely in hate.
For someone not living in America, you seem to know a lot about our laws. All of it wrong. Stop listening to the BBC, and reading the Guardian. Get some sun, and think for moment. Yes, the truth hurts; and having to admit that you let your hate run your life and made you everything you profess to stand against is painful. Most likely you won’t be able to do it. Most people are unwilling to be honest with themselves. It’s much easier to blame everyone else.
Dear oh dear, what a todoo…
Take a look at what you’ve written here Mark and have a good old think:
‘Iran wants nukes, they want them to use’. Korea has nukes, china has ‘nukes’ as you put them… I don’t see good ol’ dubbya going after them…. Strange that eh? Couldn’t be anything to do with the oil I suppose? Naaah, perish the thought dear boy. More to the point: Do you seriously think ANYONE in their right mind would so much as think about waving the head of a nuke to the US as a threat? Of course not. No one, not even your president if he were the ruler or another country is that stupid as they KNOW it will lead to ‘Mutually Assured Destruction’ (otherwise known as MAD by the way) so that kind of puts pay to that argument. Since when did Having nukes and Wanting to use them mean the same thing? Answer: Never. Only since your president tried to blur the line between imagined and potential threat. Now lets get down to reality here. As a nation, under the current regime you have gone from being a respected world leader, held in the highest esteem throughout the world to a nation led by a man who has betrayed the very principles we base freedom on – namely the right to trial and the right of free speech . Tell me Mark, what have you got to say about Guatamalo for instance, I suppose that’s the BBC’s imagination as well is it? I wouldn’t say I know everything about your country but at least as a country here we do maintain an active and healthy interest in foreign affairs.
But as I said before your president is a certified nutter. A dangerous one at that. He’s already ball’sed up one country at a cost of boil; ions and thousands of lives and regardless of that now he wants to go on and balls up another one. How MUCH PLAINER DO YOU NEED IT TO BE????!
First, Bush has gone after Korea.
Before the liberals in the U.S and Bush/America haters here and abroad combined and started undermining the war — on terror — effort; the Koreans were doing all but back-flips to stay in our good graces. Why? because they feared Bush would take them out.
Now that the liberals — among others — have undermined the legitimate fight against Terror, most countries have a wait and see attitude. They figure that the next Prez will be a liberal (aka Democrat) and they can go about their merry Terrorizing of innocents after the inauguration.
Second. “in their right mind”. bingo!
Third Iran wants Nukes so they can have the threat to use against us; much as China, Russia, and Korea have done in the past — aka BB (before Bush), and are starting to do now, again. When Bush smacked around Iraq, the usual suspects started making nice.
Have you noticed that since the left/liberal/loons/Islam-fascists and their supporters have been making noise, suddenly Russia is mouthing off, China is making threats, and Korea is slowing down it’s co-operation.
The only people who can’t figure this out are: the Bush-haters, other lefty (aka Socialists/Communists/liberals) useful idiots, and the mainstream media. A few do get it, but they hate America or Bush so much they have deluded themselves into believing they can destroy his policies, undermine the US (and the world order) and the world will be fine. It won’t be.
Fourth, so what if it’s about oil? Oil is power, just as money is. All things in this world revolve about power, duh.
Fifth, do you think the terrorists have some issue with cutting off the supply of oil to cripple us? Iran is trying to do that right now. See four above.
Sixth, if you are so deluded as to think this is nothing but a fight for oil, then you are severely handicapped mentally. I know it’s a favorite slogan of the lefty nuts; however I excuse them, they are on the the side of the terrorists — they agree with them philosophically — and want the terrorists to win; believing that the liberals will then be welcomed by open arms of the Jihadists.
Seventh, if people like you (in the U.S. and elsewhere) were so concerned about our energy future they would stop blocking ANWAR — and other — drilling. If we had started drilling in ANWAR in the 80s like we wanted to do, the price of oil would be in the 20s. If we has started drilling in 2000 — like we wanted to do — Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela would be nothing more than bit players in oil. Which of course would mean your side would be nothing more than noisy malcontents. Then throw in drilling off the coast of the US, and you have the rest of the world sucking hind tit, as it were. Which is why the left has embraced environmentalism. You really think Gorbachev gives a rat’s ass about the environment?
The fact is that our lives and livelihoods depend upon energy — right now that’s oil –; the “no war for oil” slogan is just stupidity run amok. It’s nothing more than a way for the terrorists to defeat us.
The war is about survival, the Muslims want to kill anyone who is not a Muslim, it has nothing to do with oil. Oil is merely a pawn in the game of survival right now.
The lefty forces (enviro-nuts, Bush haters, Democrats, America-haters) have all joined forces to undermine the only country that will protect them from the fascists that want to kill us and them. Tell me again about “right mind”.
Now about China, if they didn’t want to use the nukes, then why buy the technology that gives them the capability to hit the US — from Bill Clinton –, which they did not have previously?
If Iran does not want to use Nukes, then why acquire them?
As for Mutually Assured Destruction, aka Detente; it worked right up to the point when we bankrupted the USSR by no longer playing defense; a stance which you are advocating.
Your logic is faulty. Here is why:
- China has nukes
- China has not used nukes
- Therefore Iran won’t use nukes if they get them.
That is the same as:
- i have a blue ball
- i have not played with my blue ball
- therefore you won’t play with a blue ball if you get one
This could be taken even further:
- you should not get a blue ball because you won’t use it.
It’s bad thinking. You assume much, and ignore the facts of the situation.
I find it ironic that the people who agree with you believe that U.S. should be stripped of their right to own a firearm, because they MIGHT use them — for whatever reason –, but Iran should get to have nukes.
The fact is that Iran has made it clear they won’t the US to disappear; and thanks to left, they feel they are safe in doing whatever they want. Beyond that, Iran is guilty of killing US personnel in Iraq — that alone is enough to warrant action — it also makes it clear they don’t want to play nice.
You also assume that Islam is rational in it’s desires. It’s not.
Until you come to accept the fact that “playing nice” has never worked — and won’t against those who want to destroy us — you will forever be at the mercy of those who wish to destroy you. Thank you, no. The assumption that most people make is that everyone is like them. Most people are rational and want to live peaceful lives. Those who are trying to destroy us, don’t think that way. Assuming that they are like us — all evidence to the contrary — is a good way to get us all killed. Hey but you will feel good about yourself, and that as we know is all that matters to those who think like you.
If you like we can discuss the failure of appeasement?
Hello Mark, me again.
To be honest mate you sound like you’re ranting. Well, I suppose that’s your prerogative – you have a difficult perspective to defend I suppose and this is not my website but if I were a betting man I know who I’d be backing right now and it wouldn’t be beginning with B…
To add a couple of comments to your dialogue if I may call it that,
Let’s remember that the war on terror’ as Bush loosely likes to call it did not exist before 2001 and though terrorism has sadly shown it’s ugly head across the world for many years, the ‘war on terror’ is a Bush invention. Search for the perpetrator would probably have been slightly more appropriate. It strikes me that trying to fight something you cannot see might present all manner of difficulties but of course by coming up with such a loose term, it moves one step close to being able to as one likes and justify attacking anyone as it so unspecific., ‘Oh look – did you see that? There’s an axis of evil over there!!! Where?? There, just ran under that car over there… ‘ Now I’m not saying there are not enemies out there, but one thing is for sure, there are a hell of a lot more of them since your bloody regime came to power. ( Cheers chaps.)
Secondly, these liberals you speak of…. who are they? Are these the people that protest at the erosion of their constitution when their own government appears to wish to bend or downright break it’s fundamental laws? Are these perhaps the people who fear for the safety of their own country when they feel their government if making a big mistake and express their views freely? If so, I’m a liberal and so are a million other people, businessmen, housewives and children who marched through London to protest against this as well as half the rest of the world.
Personally, I thought that was what democracy was all about – shames no one was listening at the time but if being liberal is identifying when you are being fed a croc of shit, then long live the liberals. As far as I’m aware, not so much as a test tube of piss was found in Iraq, let alone WMD.
And as I said before there’s that fine outstanding example of US democracy, Guantanamo…
Now I can’t be bothered to go into all the ins and outs of all your arguments as most people these day know Bush is a little ’short of the full pound’ to put it mildly but in all honesty, how can you say on looking at what this current bunch has done? I mean, t doesn’t look good does it?
And in the meantime, I’d like to draw your attention to a few REAL potential problems such as Pakistan. If ever there is perhaps source emerging agro – with full nuclear armament within spitting distance from Bin-Hiding’s likely whereabouts, that’s likely to be it. So eyes front please. But for god’s sake, limit it to eyes and brain.
Oh and one more thing – if I visit this site again, I’ll be interested in your opinion on the dissapearance of a number of alleged tape and video recordings detailing varoius activities at a not to distant and aforementioned illiegal detention centre - that shoudl be a very interesting one providing it is allowed to pan out.
But as I said before Mark, ultimately, TIME will TELL and I know who I’m betting for.
Until then, goodbye and thanks for the entertainment – and for all our sakes let’s hope the future is brighter than it has appeared of late.
Best Regards,
Gary.
Good to see you again!
Ironic you came around today, considering the attacks upon U.S. Navy vessels by Iran. The CONTINUING assault upon our vessels.
Gitmo is NOT illegal. As for interogation tapes, glad they got rid of them. With all the candy-asses in the world today; Europe would start holding telethons for Jihadists if they saw them.
Don’t be a stranger.
