CALFIRE blocking Navy help
Oct 23rd, 2007 by Mark
CALFIRE screwing us again?
KUSI is reporting that the bureaucrats at CALFIRE are blocking the Navy and Marines from helping out on the fires. It appears that CALFIRE has a relationship with some contractors that allows CALFIRE to use only the contractor labor, unless the contractors sign off on the use of non-contractor labor and equipment.
Congressman Duncan Hunter was in the San Diego Office of Emergency Services meeting, and it’s being reported that the meeting was less than cordial.
I am searching for more info.
Some Good News
Mexico is sending firemen to the Harris fire to help put out that blaze. That’s the fire the has extended into Mexico. They have also agreed with the SDG&E to reroute electricity to San Diego to alleviate some of the stress on the electrical system.
