Ann Rice supports Hillary
Aug 19th, 2007 by Mark

Hillary with terrorist Yassir Arafat. Submissively wearing the head scarf
of second class citizens. How disgusting.
How sad. Anne Rice appears to have cracks in her facade of Christianity. Read the August 10th post. It reads like a Hillary talking points memo.
However, I have come to feel that my Christian conscience requires of me a particular political statement at this time.
I hope you will read this statement in a soft voice. It is meant to be spoken in a soft voice.
Anne knows exactly what she is doing, and it’s not softly.
I feel strongly that one should vote for one of these two parties in an election. I suspect that not voting is in fact a vote. I suspect that voting for a third party, when such parties develop, is in effect voting for one of the major parties whether one wants to believe this or not.
In other words; Ralph Nadar and you nuts need to shut up and get in line with your betters. You hurt Gore, you won’t hurt Hillary. Also you nutroots who will protest by not voting, get in line now! The rest of you wake up and realize it’s time to anoint Queen Hillary. Your betters have instructed you, now obey!
This is a preemptive strike, clearly.
Bearing all this in mind, I want to say quietly that as of this date, I am a Democrat, and that I support Hillary Clinton for President of the United States.
Why? She doesn’t say. She does however continue on the defensive.
I want to add here that I am Pro-Life. I believe in the sanctity of the life of the unborn.
She knows abortion is out of step with Christianity, yet she is in league with the Devil(ette) who advocates abortion as birth control.
I have heard many anti-abortion statements made by people who are not Democrats, but many of these statements do not strike me as constructive or convincing.
Huh? Either abortion is wrong or it is right. What do you not understand about that? Why is that she only references the non-Democratic voices? Are the Democrats who oppose abortion more intelligent or more convincing? Clearly not convincing. Guess she did not want to upset the base for Hillary.
I feel we can stop the horror of abortion. But I do not feel it can be done by rolling back Roe vs. Wade, or packing the Supreme Court with judges committed to doing this. As a student of history, I do not think that Americans will give up the legal right to abortion. Should Roe vs Wade be rolled back, Americans will pass other laws to support abortion, or they will find ways to have abortions using new legal and medical terms.
So instead of Judicial activism as practiced by the left, she wants us to NOT act within the system? wow. How do you come up with that?
Sounds like our betters have decided that it’s ok for them to pack courts with liberal activists, but we can’t turn back the clock. We also have just been chastised for daring to criticize our betters. Clearly Roe v Wade is sacrosanct. Why is she afraid of the legislative route and demand we not overturn Roe v Wade? Because Roe v Wade is bad law (like Jim Crowe laws), and they can’t win in the Congress on this issue.
What is more disturbing is her opposition to citizens exercising their right to legislate themselves. Also she does not understand there is not right to abortion.
I am also not convinced that all of those advocating anti-abortion positions in the public sphere are necessarily practical or sincere.
So the pro-abortion folks are sincere AND practical? Thus making baby slaughtering ok? How about murder, Anne; is it practical to try and stop that? Rape? Child porn? Just what is acceptable to stop? Capitalism? No doubt, she now agrees with this since she is rich and would not be hurt by taxes.
I have not heard convincing arguments put forth by anti-abortion politicians as to how Americans could be forced to give birth to children that Americans do not want to bear.
Huh? Makes you wonder if her Christianity is nothing but an act to extend her writing career. Oh and Miss Rice, you make your choice when you spread your legs. It’s called personal responsibility. Maybe you have heard of it? Guess not.
And more to the point, I have not heard convincing arguments from these anti-abortion politicians as to how we can prevent the horror of abortion right now, given the social situations we have.
The same situation created by people like Hillary Clinton. Anti-God, Anti-American, and Anti-citizen. Oh, and enforcing the law seems to have great affect. We could stop funding abortions. Follow the money folks. The left makes tons of money off of abortion. It’s a business to them.
I want to say something further. I am aware as a Christian writer that making a political statement like this is not a particularly wise marketing move. But my Christian conscience compels me to make this statement. My Christian conscience demands that I not lie in order to sell books. Lying to sell books, pandering to a Christian market — these things would mean the deepest betrayal of my vocation to live for and write for Jesus Christ. I repeat: I won’t lie to sell books.
No but you will sell your soul to the Devil to make yourself feel good. What I don’t understand is why she is flogging the abortion issue? To give cover to Hillary I bet.
I have felt a certain pressure of late to express my feelings here; that pressure is mounting. That pressure has come from watching political debate on church and state in the media, from private emails from strangers and friends concerning these issues, and from conversations, often heated, with my fellow Christians and Americans.
Uh-huh, her old writing buddies who think she is a kook for ‘being a Christian’ pressured her to come back to the fold. Good thing Christ did not think like this.
I repeat: I am a Christian; I am a Democrat. I support Hillary Clinton for President of the United States.
Ann Rice says she is a Christian, yet she is backing Hillary. How can you do that? By hiding behind the Gospel, some touchy-feely New Age nonsense, and pretzel logic; that is how.
Ann says that the Gospel directs us to feed the poor, house the homeless, heal the afflicted, and comfort the sick. Agreed. She intimates, but does not declare outright that it’s the Government who should do this. I don’t remember seeing that in the Bible. It’s not. As a matter of fact the Gospel is not about Kumbayah moments of collectivist tambourine slapping and group-think; it’s about Personal and individual sacrifice and service. It is not a commission or committee directed collective looting the public to serve the (mostly) lazy under the guise of a “good deed.”
Did Miss Rice not read the Parable of the Talents? [NOTE: for those who don't know Talent is money in the Bible. However it is clear the connection to work and skill and talent (not the money kind)]
Those values are most intensely expressed for me in the Gospel of Matthew, but they are expressed in all the gospels
Yep she must have. It’s here in Matthew 25:14-30 (NIV)
None of the servants went whining the to Government for a handout or an SBA loan. It’s clear that the Talents were meant to be used by those who had possession of them, and when they were squandered no matter the amount they were reprimanded, not rewarded. Those who used the talents were commended. No running to Caeser, or Priests, or the ACLU, or Democrats for relief.
Personal responsibility is what is missing today. Miss Rice and Hillary want to reward the slacker err servant who wasted the gift (talents) he was given.
You don’t see the 12 Apostles up on a Cross. Just as you don’t see liberals paying the price for their programs. It’s one man serving the greater good ON HIS OWN, without benefit of Union contracts and civil service protections. The Gospel is about personal responsibility.
The Christian life is not an easy life. Miss. Rice has chosen the easy path of Collectivism and Socialism. Ironically neither are promoted in the Bible; unlike other “religious” texts where it “takes a village”. Miss Rice also did not say why she is supporting Hillary. She only attack those who disagree with Hillary, or who will criticize her choice. It’s clear that Miss Rice is part of the Hillary team and getting her talking points from them.
If you want to see what a Village without morals and personal responsibility is like, go to Newark NJ [Illegals given sanction by liberals slaughters promising students]. This city is proto-typical liberal. Look what it is today, a cesspool.
Miss Rice rejects her own responsibility in carrying out the gospel under the banner of “separation of Church and State”, therefore she rejects Christ. Hiding behind separation of Church and State to justify her secular humanist stand; she then contradicts herself and says God and Man must exist as one in the voting booth. We used to call that being a Sunday Christian, or a “good time Christian”. When the going gets tough they bail because they were either phonies or lacked the grounding to stay the course.
The idea of “Separation” has been perverted over the years. It was never meant to push God out of the county seat, state house, or national congress. It was meant that the Church was not the State; as is the case in Britain, and Rome (Holy See) at one time. This perversion has been heralded as a means to make us what the left says the Founding Fathers wanted; a secular society. This of course is insipid at best, “new speak” at worst. If they did not want God in our country they would not have put Him in the constitution or the Declaration of Independence.
This seems fitting:

No I don’t support Barrack Hussein Obama. He is a bigger threat to the U.S. than Hillary. The only difference between the two — other than race and sex — is that he would be in over his head as President such that we would be in a Nuclear war within a month of him taking office due to his lack of sense. Hillary would wait until summer vacations and do it on purpose. Most likely after some scandal was uncovered — not by the MSM of course.
Christ DID NOT ask anyone to do his job for him, to provide him relief, or to ‘make it easier.’ He did his job. Miss Rice should turn her efforts to causes that are morally based, such as Feed the Children or the The Salvation Army.
You are known by your deeds. Proselytizing for Hillary and abortion is not what Jesus would do. I can understand voting for her if she were the best of the available candidates. It seem that you are siding with her not because she is the best candidate; but because you seem to want back in with the liberal crowd you turned your back on.
