Miss America PR Stunt

Well, who could have guessed this would happen? [hint: anyone with a brain].
“You’ve now made Miss America a witness,” he said.
Perverts want Miss America to testify.
Seems that the producers of America’s Most Wanted, and the Suffolk County cop shops, didn’t even consider the consequences of their little PR stunt. A stunt that in my mind cheapens and demeans the entire justice system.
HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. – An undercover sex sting that used Miss America as bait may be in trouble after the beauty queen told prosecutors that she does not plan to testify against the men she helped arrest.
Lauren Nelson, 20, of Lawton, Okla., worked with police in Suffolk County to target would-be Internet sexual predators, taped for an episode of the TV show “America’s Most Wanted.”
The cases are now in trouble of being kicked due to the selfish behavior of Miss America and AMW.
But one or all of the cases against the men could be in jeopardy after Nelson told prosecutors she did not plan on returning to Long Island to testify, said Suffolk District Attorney Thomas Spota in Newsday’s Tuesday edition.
No doubt MSNBC will be next to get hit with subpoenas for their series that did the same thing. The only difference is that they humiliated people, instead of entrapping them. They were smart enough to only be their for the filming. Which I find sick.
No doubt this will force ratings hungry “news orgs” to rethink their ‘in your face’ news gathering. I do find it ironic that the same people who think criminals need help and should not be humiliated and ‘tortured’ are the same people who have no problems do exactly what they say others should not.
