Loony Left At It Again
Mar 15th, 2007 by Mark
Once again the left is showing what is wrong with them.
Dean’s Hatred and Delusions
“I am trying to build relationships with other governments in preparation for a Democratic takeover,” Dean told me. “I want to make clear that there is an opposition in America and that we are ready to take power and that when we do, we are going to have much better relationships with them.”
Maybe he is thinking of running again?
In an hour-long interview at Democratic National Committee headquarters Tuesday, Dean also revealed that he has been quietly meeting with well-known Christian evangelical leaders in order to build new bridges between them and the Democratic Party.
“We’re never going to convince them on civil rights for gay people or abortion rights,” Dean said. “But we certainly can focus on the things that we both care about a lot: global warming, poverty and the materiality of our culture.”
So you admit that the left is groundless, shiftless, and ruthless? Finally after this [link] nonsense, it’s refreshing to see some sanity. OK at least feigned honesty, even if it’s nothing more than hatred towards Christians which of course violates the liberal ethos of love all; is a start. It’s complicated being a Deaniac.
Oh and memo to Dean: just because you “care” about the same things, does not mean they agree with your message or ideas on how to “solve” them. OK some of the nuts do, but most realize you only talk a good game.
Democrat’s Intolerance
1. For some reason they don’t like Steven Colbert. [Freshman warned by Party] Now seems to me that a program that attacks your enemies, is probably good.
2. Dems get CNN to bar Candidate
CNN AND LOCAL NEW HAMPSHIRE MEDIA IMPOSE CENSORSHIP AND TRASH FAIRNESS IN THE PRESIDENTIAL DEBATES
March 15, 2007 - Washington, D.C. – CNN, the Manchester Union Leader and the Hearst-owned WMUR-TV have formally decided to exclude Democratic Presidential Candidate Senator Mike Gravel from the debates they will be sponsoring in New Hampshire.
This decision calls into question media censorship and goes against a fundamental American belief in “Fairness,” which is especially critical in the political process.
The Senator said, “By denying me the same opportunity afforded to other presidential candidates to discuss in public debate the major issues that confront our nation, the sponsoring media outlets––CNN, The Manchester Union Leader and the Hearst-owned WMUR-TV––are exercising censorship, unbecoming in a free society. They are dictating whose political voice they will permit New Hampshire and American citizens to hear.”
“These media outlets are depriving the people the right to hear a voice they may very well want to hear, and in my case, a voice with some new and different ideas not expressed by other candidates––not ‘politics as usual.’ This amounts to denying the people the right to an informed choice from among all the declared and legitimate candidates, not just those deemed worthy by a few media organizations.”
The Senator continued, “It is not CNN’s, the Manchester Union Leader’s or Hearst’s WMUR-TV’s place to decide whose voice should and should not be heard in a debate between legitimate and qualified presidential candidates for the nomination of their political parties. When my staff inquired as to why I was being barred from participating in the debate, they received the Orwellian response that my candidacy did not meet certain criteria––a criteria that the media organizations refused to divulge when asked.”
A poll of political scientists and speech specialists in Nevada rated Senator Gravel the third most effective presenter at the debate/forum sponsored by ABC, AFSCME, and the Nevada Democratic party in Carson City last month.
The Senator concluded, “In short, this action is an insidious form of censorship that injures the American people and its political process, already compromised by the corrupting and excessive influence of money, while seriously eroding the concept of fairness so central to the American ethos and culture.
The actions of CNN, The Manchester Union Leader and Hearst’s WMUR-TV set a dangerous precedent and are more akin to totalitarian tyrannies than the world’s greatest democracy, particularly in a state with the motto: “Live Free of Die.” We can only wonder what is behind such inappropriate intervention in our political process that does not let the people decide.”
Mike Gravel, a resident of Virginia, is a former two-term Senator from Alaska with a distinguished record that includes successfully ending the military draft with a five-month filibuster, releasing the Pentagon Papers risking both prosecution and jail, playing the leading role in making the Alaska pipeline a reality, and ending nuclear testing in Alaska. He is the driving force and author of the National Initiative for Democracy, a proposal to bring the ballot initiative lawmaking process––already proven in many states as an effective and necessary check on unresponsive representative government––to the Federal level.
Oh yea, such love and respect in the Democrat party. How can the liberals not love this guy. He has actually done something! Must be that pesky Alaskan Pipeline. You know how the liberals are, one mistake and ‘off with his head’. Something tells me that the “ballot initiative” is the one that really hacks’em off. The congress, actually do something the people want? Oh the horrors.
Liberals seem to have selective memories
Liberals seem to forget their own misdeeds [link]. Oh wait, it’s only a misdeed when a liberal disagrees with it. My bad.
Former prosecutors say that in dealings with lawmakers, administration officials and others who had complaints or were pushing causes, his department took no apparent steps to ensure that its decisions were free — or at least appeared free — of political taint.
“It’s O.K. for the president to hear and repeat a politically motivated complaint,” said Harry E. Cummins III, the ousted United States attorney in Arkansas. “It is O.K. for Karl Rove to act on it.
“But it is not O.K. for the gatekeeper of the Department of Justice to let it impact what happens inside the department.”
You mean when Clinton’s AG Reno fired all 93 Federal Prosecutors for purely political reasons?
Others, like Janet Reno, who had no previous personal relationship with President Bill Clinton, had serious conflicts with the White House she served.
What? you mean like when she was ordered to murder innocent women and children in Waco Texas and willingly obeyed? Or how about when she and the lefty nut cases who desperately wanted to help Castro; abducted a small child to be sent back to Castro as a propaganda piece? Serious conflicts? Bull.
“United States attorneys should cooperate with the department and should enforce the priorities of the department,” a former prosecutor said. “But they also need to be in tune with the needs of their district and should fight for their districts. They should not simply be ‘yes’ men for Washington. There is more pressure to toe the line for D.C. now.”
Case in Point Carol Lam in San Diego. She refused to go after illegal aliens. Was that because the White House told her not to do so, or because she would not of her own accord. Several have wondered why she refused to prosecute Democrats who were clearly dirty, but went after Randy “Duke” Cunningham with a vengeance.
Since the dismissals of the seven prosecutors, some lawmakers acknowledged that they had complained to the Justice Department or the White House about prosecutors in their districts. The White House also passed on complaints about lax voter fraud prosecutions, administration officials have acknowledged.
Wait, the White House was concerned about voter fraud, and the District Attorneys did nothing about it? Gee I wonder why there were firings? Oh no I am not. Based on liberal news reports, I was under the impression that the White House wanted voter fraud. Interesting how the liberal media is not explaining how they could be so wrong.
Philip B. Heymann, a deputy attorney general under Ms. Reno and now a professor at the Harvard Law School, said the term that Mr. Gonzales used to describe his position at a news conference on Tuesday, “chief executive officer,” demonstrated his lack of appreciation for the discretion presidentially appointed United States attorneys have to have.
“He seems to regard the U.S. attorneys as if they are the equivalent of the noncareer employees of the Interior Department,” Mr. Heymann said.
You mean like the ones you and your boss fired? And let’s not forget Michael Chertoff whose job was saved by Sen Bill Bradley. Gee was that political and where was the outcry then? Oh yeah, liberals decide what is right an wrong.
Oh and let’s not forget when Hillary Clinton with a clear conflict of interest voted against Michael Chertoff because he was an Attorney investigating the Whitewater scandal. A scandal that involved her tampering with evidence and refusing to comply with court orders. Yea, no politics there. Guess being the wife of a President means you don’t have to say your sorry for breaking the laws of this country.
