Gore Says Media Is Too Balanced
Mar 1st, 2007 by Mark
*ROTFLMAO* Are you kidding me? Gore says the media is not doing enough to get Governments to take on Global Warming . The reason is that it is too balanced.
A 10-year University of California study found that essentially zero percent of peer-reviewed scientific journal articles disagreed that global warming exists, whereas, another study found that 53 percent of mainstream newspaper articles disagreed the global warming premise.
What he didn’t say was that the studies were from journals that are slanted to one viewpoint. What he also did not say was that the news orgs disagreed with the premise that MAN is to blame for Global Warming.
“I believe that is one of the principal reasons why political leaders around the world have not yet taken action,” Gore said. “There are many reasons, but one of the principal reasons in my view is more than half of the mainstream media have rejected the scientific consensus implicitly — and I say ‘rejected,’ perhaps it’s the wrong word. They have failed to report that it is the consensus and instead have chosen … balance as bias.
Well there you have it! A liberal admits that balance is a bad thing. Just more proof that the liberals don’t want you to know the truth.
“I don’t think that any of the editors or reporters responsible for one of these stories saying, ‘It may be real, it may not be real,’ is unethical. But I think they made the wrong choice, and I think the consequences are severe.
So if they agreed with his viewpoint, they would have made the right choice. Ignoring the fact that they are supposed to report facts and not conjecture.
Note that he did not say how the study was performed or what the benchmarks were for the study. He routinely leaves out inconvenient truths.
And the “coup de grace”
Gore would not answer any questions from the media after the event.
Hmm, so the media is the problem? Then why not take questions so they can give the “straight dope”? You know the Truth? Clearly Gore wants a pass from the media. He expects them to swallow ‘whole hog’ his version of “the truth”. Typical of liberals.
Here is the take by “best of the web”:
So, let’s sum this up: Here we have a major American politician who is calling for policies that would impose huge costs on society but appears to be profiting handsomely himself; who is leading an extravagant lifestyle while demanding sacrifices from ordinary people; and who is calling on the media to suppress the views of those with whom he disagrees, while at the same time urging more government regulation in the name of “fairness” to his partisan and ideological allies.
Why is it left to think tanks and bloggers to investigate and expose all this? Why aren’t the mainstream media all over the story? Could it be . . . bias?
Yep. Exactly.
