Busted! Yep, the liberal lefty ex-Senator and wannabe Prez is acting just like a liberal. Lie about a company, then attack it, and then use it’s services. How nice.
Former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards acknowledged Thursday that amid his criticism of Wal-Mart Stores Inc., a volunteer member of his staff asked the world’s largest retailer for help obtaining a hot new Sony Playstation 3 for Edwards’ family.Edwards, a potential 2008 presidential candidate, told The Associated Press that the volunteer “feels terrible” about seeking the game unit at Wal-Mart while his boss claims the retailer doesn’t treat its employees fairly.
By fairly, he means: they “use” non-Union, “underpaid”, and “exploited” “workers” (nice Socialist imagery there). Mostly it’s the non-Union part that he keys on. Because who in their right mind would want to work there? They must be idiots, and therefore must be saved by their intellectual superiors; the Democrats! And if the Unions benefit and vote for him, well hey that is how the game is played. Yea, it’s all about helping the little guy.
However the story goes on to paint a less flattering depicition of events.
“My wife, Elizabeth, wanted to get a Playstation3 for my young children. She mentioned it in front of one of my staff people. That staff person mentioned it in front of a volunteer who said he would make an effort to get one. He was making an effort to go get one for himself,” Edwards said.
“Elizabeth and I knew nothing about this. He feels terrible about this. He made a mistake and he knows he should not have used my name,” Edwards said.
Excuse me? He should not have used Edward’s name? Why not, he was getting you this hot new toy for your spoiled brats. Why would he not mention your name?
And do tell, how you did not know about this? Your wife told your staff. Which we all knows they were told to go get it for you. Duh!
The liberal hate machine is of course defending him.
Notice they defend Johnny shopping at Wal-Mart while he attacks the store — you know, hypocrisy — ;and swallow whole the idiotic story that the staffer did not know Johnny’s hatred of Wal-Mart and just made a mistake.
Oh please! How do you work for this guy who says this:”If a 6-year-old can figure it out, America can definitely figure this out,” speaking of his son denegrating (with a verbal attack) another child’s choice of where to shop; and not know of his hatred for succesful companies like Wal-Mart? Memo to staff: read the itenarary and talking points of our campaign before you join us. Duh.
Yea, I know the 6 year old did not make the choice, his parents did, but that does not matter to Johnny and his hate machine. Neither does choice, when it’s not the liberal choice. Hmmmm!
The question though remains; why can’t Johnny hire people older than 6 to work for him? Notice they do not criticize him for hiring such dull-witted staffers. Hello! We are attacking Wal-Mart, don’t shop there! Unbelievable!
Also notice they don’t level once ounce of criticism at the staff of Johnny-boy, for his/their ravenous appetite for material goods. Where is the outcry over the unfettered lust for the latest ‘thing’.
Isn’t this how the Capatalist destruction of the planet is fed? Wouldn’t we all be better if we were not so desparate for material goods, err conned into believing we need them? Wouldn’t we all be better if we just bought high-priced Union-made, dull products? Wouldn’t we all be better if we down-sized our lives?
Yea, no mention of any of that. Just more blame Wal-Mart for all the ills of the world. You know, low prices that make things affordable to the poor, and middle class. Yea, those evil bastards, how dare they make products affordable. You know like medicine.
I can’t wait to hear their spin on this. Remember, it’s the evil drug companies who are destroying America, and Wal-Mart also! Oh wait Wal-Mart is selling meds at very low prices! But wait they are evil, they don’t use Unions! Ok people no meds from Wal-Mart! You can die, because you can’t shop at a non-Union store. We know the Union stores are 1000 times more expensive, but you can’t “exploit” people just so you can feel better. Or as it turns out to get a PS3.
