More Proof that Hollywood Is Clueless

Stupid Is
Insulated from the real world Hollywood buys into hype. Much like the Emperor who wore no clothes, they believe they are “mahvalous”.
So out of touch are the Hollywood types they actually think it’s o.k. to stage a movie promotion “stunt” that any sane human being would see as a dangerous. The movie is “Mission Impossible III”. The clue-less in this little drama of stupidity are: “The L.A. Times”, “Paramount Pictures”.
The plan was to conceal digital audio players in 4,500 randomly selected newspaper boxes around Los Angeles and Ventura County. When newspaper buyers opened the racks, the six inch long, two-and-a-half inch wide red plastic boxes — connected to activator switches on the news rack doors — would play the easily-recognizable “Mission: Impossible” theme song.
Despite the simplicity of the plan, the digital audio players and the red, white and black wires leading to their activator switches did not stay concealed. One newspaper buyer saw the device and switch, thought it was a bomb and called authorities. After an inspection of the newspaper rack could not determine whether the device was explosive, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department bomb squad blew up the newspaper rack.
What the hell were they thinking? Clearly they don’t get the whole terrorist thing. Gee what a shock. No wonder they are anti-war, they are living in the past.
Even more bizarre is the fact that the L.A. Times thought this was a good idea. Wait, no it’s not they are just as bad as Hollywood.
Clue-less, out of touch, blinded by their own arrogance, and putting people at risk; that is Hollywood of today.
Ironically the “star” of the movie, Tom Cruise has to be the most bizarre celebrity around.
