Calvin Ayre — More Trouble
Apr 21st, 2006 by Mark
Calvin Ayre just can’t seem to catch a break.
After having his compound raided due to neighbors complaining about the noise — Ayre claims it was due to a tabloid reporting gaming activity — he has now been sued by Babette Pepaj (Blue Moon Entertainment) for allegedly stealing her concept and using it for his show “Wild Card Poker”.
The “poker tournament” was nothing more than a way for Ayre to massage his giant and swelling ego. The best shot of the show, was the feigned ‘chat up’ of a young lady by Ayre at a ‘wet bar’. It was uncomfortable to watch, even more so than his choreographed grand entrance.
An injunction was denied in LA Superior Court previous to the show airing. Ayre is vowing to continue to fight back, even though Ayre admits that “Blue Moon” was asked to submit a proposal for a poker show. Even more odd, a spokesman for Bodog said they wanted to resolve it without litigation.
… And More Bad News
In more Bodog news, one of it’s front men has been exposed as possibly having appeared in a porn video. David Williams is alleged to have been in a porn video with “Janet” a net porn “amateur” and “actress”. Videos are available on putfile.com and no doubt other places, sorry I won’t link.
Ironically Ayre is a known con-man and criminal who is attempting to affect a “bad boy” image. Recently the Bodog team of Ayre, Williams, Josh Arieh, and Evelyn Ng were in Beverly Hills for a photo shoot. The pics are contrived and appear be looking to make the team more sophisticated, but “bad” a la “The Brat Pack”.
… Does Poker Really Need This
Calvin Ayre is not what you could call a “trustworthy” person. The reason I stopped playing there was attributable to Ayre. The fact that he has a client based solely on I.E. is just more proof, that Bodog does not care about your safety or poker. He is all about him.
