Dr. Carol Harter has stepped down as President of U.N.L.V. All I can say is “Thank God”.

Harter was an absolute nightmare. She routinely ignored students needs in order to ensconce herself and her fellow administrators. When first taking office it was revealed she was keeping a slush fund. She attempted to turn U.N.L.V. into a North-Eastern style school, failing miserably. Killing off the small amount of success that was the basketball program she has turned the school into just a gambling industry training spot.

Had she not been such a stuck up Nor-Easter, with delusions of grandeur she might have actually accomplished something. Her first act upon entering the top post at U.N.L.V. was to have a ceremony to honor herself. Yep, she decided she needed a processional with all the pomp and ceremony that those schools back east have. The idea being that if you look like a “real” school you are a “real” school. It was down hill from there.

This attitude was continued with breakneck addition of new Graduate Level degrees. Thirty-Six all total, along with the attendant staff. A typical bureaucrat, she behaved as a dictator would. She assumed that she was in charge and not the people of Nevada.

Until the school stops running off the best thinkers, those who are not raving liberals, and decides quality is more important that quantity nothing will change. The attacks upon those who disagree with her, should have stopped 10 years ago. She divided the campus and set the school back by a decade. Good Riddance.
