Censored Stern

*** UPDATE ***
Hearing rumors that Stern may leave Sirius. Can’t really buy into that, then again he would do something that stupid. He has left his crew in the lurch on many occasions.
Looking for info.
*** UPDATE ***
Uh-Oh seems Sirius is about to issue it’s own “Standards and Practices”. This means that Howard may be bleeped.
Stern’s antics are childish in most cases, and have no place on standard broadcast radio. However I don’t see the problem on a pay service. Is Sirius worried about legislation to crack down on satellite?
On the one hand it’s funny to see the company he works for ‘censoring’ him. This should be good. After all his ranting and raving and attacking his previous employer how will Howard respond now? Like a child, of course.
Or will he? Will he take a more mature view of things now? Could be, or is it that he was getting good press from fighting “the man” over issues that had already been decided? Will he now lose his edge? Can he be seen as the everyman against the establishment or will he be just another filth monger? Let’s see.
On the other hand, it is funny to see Stern is self-censoring. Will he complain about how he treats himself? Of course not.
Howard Stern has a dump button for his program at Sirius Satellite Radio and is not afraid to use it. During this morning’s “revelations” segment, Stern dumped part of a statement by Sal The Stockbroker and admitted to doing so immediately as it happened.
“It would harm someone,” explained Stern to a listener that called him out for the abrupt edit. “You have to understand, there are still some things [not for the airwaves],” intimated Stern.
Oh really? Since when? My how the worm has turned. Stern tells guests their is nothing off limits. What gives?
As for Sirius, well you have to wonder what were they thinking. Surely they knew this was going to happen. Where was their plan? Why did they not discuss this BEFORE the hiring or Stern? Could it be they felt they could increase listeners AND control Stern? Or did they plan to dump him anyway?
