Texas #1 PERIOD!

Dear Doubters,
TEXAS 41
USC 39
“Amazing,” Darrell Royal said quietly. “There’s just no other word for it. Amazing.”
‘nuff said! You can whine and complain all you want about injuries or bad calls or luck, but the score says it all. You lost. When you won we did not hear you say it was luck or bad calls or injuries on the other team. Suck it up. You lost.
Matt Leinart — or is it Whinert
“I still think we’re the better team; they just made the plays tonight.”
Sorry Matt, you have to win to be called the best. Thanks for proving what we all knew. You are a whiner. Be a man next time. Why insult the team that just took you to the woodshed.
Southern California coach Pete Carroll, considered the coolest, most unflappable member of the fraternity, making desperate choices and worse gambles when the outcome hung in the balance.
…the longer he watched Young, the more he became convinced USC would have to abandon its comfort zone. He turned to trick plays, gambled recklessly on fourth-and-short situations, squandered timeouts _ did just about anything to keep the ball out of Young’s hands.
None of it worked.
“The quarterback just ran all over the place,” he said. “He’s a fantastic player. He was the difference.
“And how classic was it,” Carroll added, “that he ran it in on the last play?”
That’s exactly it. Texas was dominant and you coach did all he could. It was not enough. In the end it was Texas and Vince Young.
In the bargain, he [Vince Young] also accomplished what storied programs like Notre Dame and upstarts like Fresno State could not _ finish off the Trojans once they had them down. He stopped Southern California’s win streak at 34 in a row, moving Texas’ unbeaten run of 20 straight to the top of college football’s charts.
‘nuff said, till I think of something else.
Oh yeah and about those calls, ask Notre Dame about “those calls.”
