They Just Keep Screwing the City

San Diego may pay for Zucchet’s legal bills. This guy takes bribes, and now they are going to pay for his defense? Stupid,however it is San Diego.
Although San Diego is financially strapped, we’re now learning the city may have to pay the legal bills for former city councilman Michael Zucchet.
Earlier this year, when a jury acquitted city council aide David Cowan of federal charges in the Strippergate trial, the city had to pick up his legal tab, which came out to over $137,000. But given all the extra work Zucchet’s lawyers did to get him off, his legal bill will likely be much, much higher.
No wonder San Diego is in a hole. It is a veritable ‘den of thieves’ with free legal help! Add to that being able to ‘buy years’ to get better retirement, and you have yourself a nice little job.
