I Thought the French Were Peaceful?

I must be wrong. Clearly they are some of the most violent and intolerant people in the world.
Hmm, maybe it is not the French? Could it be the peaceful Islamists?
[French Interior Minister Nicolas] Sarkozy, addressing police officers, vowed to find how tear gas had been fired into the Muslim place of worship, an incident which had helped fuel the disturbances.
Where are the recriminations of those for “peace and love”? You know them as liberals. Why are they not attacking the Police and French government? Could it be that all their rhetoric is just hatred for America? I think yes.
Maybe it is the criminals who are the problem?
The violence began four days ago after the deaths of two teenagers, believed to be of African origin, who were electrocuted after clambering into a power sub-station while apparently fleeing police.
So criminals are allowed to flee the police in France? It would appear not anymore. People are now upset at this? Maybe France woke up. Criminals should be caught. Hey, who knew! Seems to me the neighborhood is just a bunch of low-life criminals live in that area.
Sarkozy, who returned as the interior minister in late May, began a new crime offensive this month, ordering specially trained police to tackle 25 problem neighborhoods in cities throughout France.
Opposition politicians say he has made things worse.
Laurent Fabius, a former Socialist prime minister and also a potential presidential candidate in 2007, mocked Sarkozy’s frequent visits to areas such as Clichy.
“When he announces that he’s going to visit such and such a commune or suburb every week, that’s not how we resolve those problems,” Fabius told Europe 1 radio.
“We need to act at the same time on prevention, repression, education, housing, jobs … and not play the cowboy.”
Does that sound familiar to anyone?
This is what happens when you believe that talk solves everything. Sometimes you have to take action. Now France is reaping the crop from it’s ‘head in the sand’ attitude.
Reward without punishment NEVER works.
