888 starts trading

Amazing. One of the worst sites on the Internet and they are public. Scary. Just as in the dot-com hay day, we see the worst sites going public first.
Party Poker will disappoint it’s stockholders. The marketing money it takes to keep that site up and running is significant. It eats up a lot of cash.
888’s Pacific poker, is just horrible. They don’t have the players numbers of Party, and neither do they have the overhead.
Both will be disappointments. This will start the usual cycle of “it’s over” talk. Which of course is nonsense. All industries have a boom and bust cycle. They then settle into a normal rhythm, stronger, better, and profitable.
